Another expenses scandal for Greg Barker?

It turns out Barker made just under 5,000 from a second job over summer. He needs to explain what he was doing and whether or not there was a conflict of interest with his position as shadow minister for the environment. As an adviser to an investment firm, there are clearly areas that can overlap with his role as an MP. What is to stop him from voting for laws or tabling amendments which directly benefit this firm, for example?

David Cameron has made a pledge to clear his shadow cabinet of all politicians found to have made unreasonable claims, or to have acted inappropriately in relation to the expenses scandal. Aside from the fact that under his own rules, Cameron's wisteria plants should mean that he is barred from his own shadow cabinet, it is important to make one thing clear. If Greg Barker was in the shadow cabinet, David Cameron would have got rid of him.

Greg Barker, already one of the richest politicians in the land, has yet again been found to be taking the taxpayer for a ride. If Cameron wouldn't even have him in his shadow cabinet, why would we want him as MP for Bexhill and Battle?
