Bexhill High has worst possible wake-up call

BEXHILL High has received the worst possible wake-up call in the form of a damning Ofsted report.

The school is going through a vast degree of change both with its planned changes to school hours and the transfer over to the brand new site over at Gunters Lane.

Parents have every right to be angry over this situation - every good mother and father wants the best education possible for their child.

Also the situation is demoralising for teachers, auxiliary staff and for the children themselves.

However, executive principal Mike Conn has been extremely honest and open over the report, admitting that he has taken his eye off the ball and that the school has "screwed up".

Not only that, he has taken himself away from overseeing the transfer to the new building and taken up the full reins once more at Bexhill High's current location.

The response so far from some parents and the governors now that Mr Conn has taken this step shows there is definitely scope for the school to turn its fortunes around again.

It seems that for Bexhill High, things can only get better.

Support for anti landfill protest

ANTI-LANDFILL group BALI is off to the House of Commons next Friday - and is asking for your support.

The prospect of landfill at Ashdown Brickworks is pretty dire, especially in this day and age where we should be doing more to recycle and find cleaner, greener ways of disposing of our waste.

Not only that, the site is far too close to residential areas and has notoriously poor traffic access for dust carts.

So if you are against landfill in Bexhill, pick up the phone and give BALI a call - and make sure your voice is heard.
