But first, thanks to all who came down to the programme launch at Ropetackle on Thursday. It was a really colourful event and gave a taste of what to expect from the festival. Read more on page 12.

Ropetackle will also be hosting a fantastic range of events during the festival itself, covering live music, stand-up comedy, family theatre, talks and film screenings. Highlights include veteran folk singer Peggy Seeger, political cartoonist and satirist Steve Bell and the puppet show Flyaway Katie.

If that wasn’t mouth-watering enough, the Ropetackle Café will be transformed into the Food of Love Café for the duration of the festival.

Elsewhere, the Glastonwick beer festival is making a welcome return, as is Adur East Lions’ Donkey Derby. Over at Shoreham Library, there are several children’s events, a talk from food entrepreneur Momma Cherri and an evening dedicated entirely to chocolate!

For those seeking to brush up on their Shoreham history, there are a selection of guided walks from Malcolm Campbell and from All Inclusive History to choose from.

If you fancy trying something new, then why not give church bell ringing or gospel singing a go?

Lastly, one event not to miss is the Family Fun Day on May 31 at Adur Recreation Ground, which will feature live music, stalls, fun fair rides, a climbing tower and much more, as well as a beer tent for the adults.
