Fighting the fascist BNP

Next month, on 4th June, the European and county council elections will be held.

Many people see this as a non-event '“ while the county council elections are seen as already tied up by the Tories locally, the European Parliament is seen as too distant to care.

But one possibility is growing, which a lot of people aren't aware of '“ there is a real chance that next month could see the British National Party gaining several MEPs. The BNP has a track record of racism, it arranges its meetings in secret, and several BNP councillors have in the past resorted to violence rather than engaging in any constructive way, and been kicked off councils as a result.

If they get elected to the European Parliament, they will receive large amounts of taxpayers' funding, and are very likely to form a group in the European Parliament with, among others, Jean-Marie Le Pen, the French National Front leader who has several times denied the Holocaust.

The funding they will receive is likely to enable the BNP to grow further, and their threat to the decent values of the vast majority of Brits will only grow.

Your vote counts '“ whether or not you decide to vote Labour and re-elect Peter Skinner, please use your vote on 4th June to keep out the fascist BNP.
