Just a Minute

I have in mind the words of Jesus '“ the person who trusts me will not only do what I am doing but even greater things.

Greater things than Jesus did? Surely not '“ water into wine, 5,000 people fed with a few bread rolls and fish, dead men raised to life?

How could any of us perform miracles remotely like that, let alone greater?

Perhaps these are not the sort of things the Lord needs from me, less spectacular but no less important things.

Any preacher, who today is granted a few minutes air-time on national radio or television, addressing an audience of millions, has the opportunity to tell the Gospel message to more people than Jesus ever did.

Greater things? It IS possible!

Jesus offered His miracles as evidence of his divine authority, but goes on to tell his disciples that they can do what he has done. It is an amazing truth to take into 2009.

Give us faith, Lord, we pray, faith for greater things!
