Katy Bourne’s VLOG (May)

This month Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne interviews two new Special Constables who have just completed over six months of rigorous training and are about to become warranted officers at an Attestation ceremony held at Sussex Police Headquarters in Lewes.

Mrs Bourne finds out why Suzanne Stevens and Tomasz Domanski decided to become Special Constables, how they have found the training and what it means to them to be able to help keep their local communities safe.

Attestation is a process by which a newly appointed recruit to Sussex Police becomes a Special Constable with all the powers and responsibilities which that entails. The ceremony involves officers making a declaration in the presence of a Magistrate, before receiving their warrant cards.
