Planning for the challenges ahead

Once a year we have our Annual General Meeting, which is a requirement of the charity by law.

At this meeting, we inform everyone what has happened over the past year and what is planned for the future. It is also a great chance for people to ask any questions they might have.

We give a presentation about what is happening at Chestnut Tree House, including all the various aspects of our work.

It is always quite a surprise when you start to list all the things that have happened over the course of a year. In the past year alone we have enjoyed our 10th birthday celebrations, open days for the public, the update of our parents’ accommodation, the development of our beautiful Woodland Walk and introduced new vehicles to help the community team get around Sussex to visit the families we care for.

We also report on the increase in referrals that we are constantly receiving and, the levels of funding we have received or expect to receive, plus the challenges that we are expecting in the coming year. With such little funding from the government, we have to make plans for the next 3 years well in advance and the only way we can do this is with the fantastic, unstinting support of our local community and the dedication of our volunteers.
