A new rector has been appointed for the village. He is the Reverend David Commander. A licensing service date has yet to be finalised but is likely to be mid-October.

The Cricket Club are at home to Little Chart on Saturday with a 2pm start. The matchball sponsor is Lindsay Barrow - Designer Florist from Hawkhurst.

The next police surgery takes place at the Old School, Back Lane, on Tuesday July 30.

Sandhurst Nursery School holds an Open Day on Saturday from 10am - 1pm. This is for current and new parents as well as anyone who is interested in the nursery.

Sandhurst Baptist Church holds a Purpose Plate Lunch on July 11 at noon. Booking is needed. For more information call Ken or Liz Slater on 01580 850446.

The next W.I. meeting takes place on July 10 at 7pm at the Old School and will be a talk on hop picking with David Denyer and George Dann.
