ST BARNABAS: Thank you to all who took part in Night to Remember

We recently held our ninth Night to Remember midnight walk and once again it proved to be a wonderful success with over 800 ladies taking part and raising money for St Barnabas House in the process.

Many of the ladies who participate in Night to Remember do so in memory of loved ones who have been cared for by the hospice, which makes it an extra special occasion for all involved.

Night to Remember has raised over £1.3million over the past nine years and continues to provide essential funds for the hospice.

The final fundraising total on the night was a huge £126,476.40, money which will go towards our Hospice at Home night service.

Our night service was first started in 2014, providing hospice care in the home during the dark hours that patients and families find so difficult to cope with.

Since this service began we have been able to make a big difference to the care provided to people in the local community, and demand for the service continues to grow.

Last year alone 418 night sit visits were made by the Hospice at Home team, an increase by more than a third on the number of visits made during 2014/15.

The amount raised at this year’s Night to Remember is enough to provide funding for a total of 6,387 hours of care for patients in their own homes during the night.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to Night to Remember. We are truly grateful for your support.
