Once you’ve opened your Kindle, you will need to register it to access features such as downloading and purchasing content.

To register your new Kindle you need to create an Amazon account or sync it with your existing one.

If your Amazon user name or password contains characters that are not present on the Kindle keyboard, press the symbol key to see a menu of additional characters.

After you have registered your account and set up your payment details you can start to download free e-books to your device.

If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, you can also borrow one book per month from Amazon’s Lending Library.

You can also subscribe to your favourite magazines, newspapers and blogs from the Kindle Store.

There’s also a free Kindle reading app for your mobile device or desktop.

As long as your devices are connected to the internet you will able to sync where you last left off in a book.
