Thank you to our Beachy Head Marathon Volunteers

A big thank you goes to our fantastic volunteers attending the Beachy Head Marathon this weekend. They will be manning one of the refreshment stops and I know they are looking forward to cheering the runners on.

Volunteers are so important to us; we really would struggle to operate without them. Last year volunteers provided over 100,000 hours of support across the whole charity (which, as well as Chestnut Tree, includes our adult hospice in Worthing, St Barnabas), doing the equivalent of over a million pounds worth of work to help support our care, fundraising and retail functions.

Volunteers in East Sussex take on a number of roles for us. They might spend a few hours each week in one of our shops sorting stock, creating wonderful displays or serving customers. Or they might help our fundraising team to raise awareness and vital funds to ensure we can continue offering care to children with life-shortening conditions in the county.

Over the past year volunteers have done everything from cheering on the walkers in our Night to Remember midnight walk and dressing up as pirates for the Eastbourne Carnival to delivering collecting tins to businesses and providing admin support in our local office.

We are always recruiting new volunteers, please see our website for more information if you are interested in joining the team www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk
