People young and old got dressed up to go to the Robertsbridge Club for the charity event.

Those going along enjoyed a fang packed evening of fancy dress and pumpkin contests, monster dancing and spooky poems and stories.

For the brave of heart they could always enter the Haunted Hall of Horror or try one of the various culinary delicacies of witches fingers, potions and dragon spit!

The charity funds raised were then boosted by a trip to the local Salehurst Halt by four tired witches, where the locals generously supported the cause and received them with offerings of chips.

Robertsbridge locals Liz Martin, Val Gallagher and Rob and Jo Rainsbury came up with idea as a good alternative for families to the usual trick or treat dilemma and marvellous fund raising opportunity.

They decided to split the proceeds this year between two charities, the local Chestnut Tree Children’s Hospital and Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in London.

Jo Rainsbury commented: “Both charities have helped local children and families and it was lovely to be able to raise funds to help them continue with their great work.

“The total for the night was in excess of £500 and funds are being continued to be raised at the organisers’ places of work including Claremont Primary School.”
