Shop assistant (Rustington and Littlehampton) – Link to Hope
Link to Hope is a Christian charity based in Worthing, established since 1991, who rebuilds lives and communities in Eastern Europe through social care and education projects.
It is looking for volunteers to work as part of a warm welcoming team in its shops in Rustington and Littlehampton.
There are a number of roles within the shop, so whether you have budding creative skills for displaying and making up outfits, or have a passion for books, music or china, preparing and merchandising all types of stock as well as serving and talking to customers, it all goes towards the charity’s overall goals of raising funds.
Link to Hope would love you to come and join the team and give them a hand.
Wheelchair/scooter maintenance and repair – Littlehampton Shopmobility
Littlehampton Shopmobility exists to ensure that people with mobility problems enjoy their shopping experiences and help to maintain their independent lives.
It has a range of manual wheelchairs and powered scooters that require maintenance and repair.
Some of the tasks are: checking and repairing wheelchair/rollator brakes, replacing tyres, charging of batteries and cleaning.
Volunteers may be required to adjust days and times to cover illness and holidays.
Drivers and trustees – Arun Co-ordinated Community Transport
Arun Co-ordinated Community Transport provides easy, affordable transport to people who are unable to use public transport by means of minibuses, a dial-a-ride service and a social car scheme.
It is looking for drivers to drive their own cars, the dial-a-ride car or their minibus.
You must have a clean driving license and be flexible and outgoing.
The charity also needs more trustees to enable it to move forward due to an increase in bookings for the services.
No particular skills are required for this role but someone who has good ideas in fundraising would be a help.
Volunteer walk leader – Healthy Walks in Arun/Freedom Leisure
Volunteers are required to become walk leaders for the Healthy Walks in Arun Programme and to support walkers in receiving the physical and social benefits of walking.
It is looking to expand the walks programme to include outlying villages within the Arun area and slower/shorter walks for the less mobile.
Commitment could be as little as one hour per week or month.
Volunteers would be required to attend volunteer walk leader training for a day to teach you how to lead a safe and enjoyable walking session for all ages and abilities, promote health benefits and identify potential risks and hazards on your walk, and help tailor health walking to meet individual needs.
