Chaperones for social outings – Leonard Cheshire Disability

Hide AdLeonard Cheshire Disability provides services in support of disabled people in the widest context: care at home, supported living, domiciliary support, day services, rehabilitation and respite care.
Companions are needed to spend time with people living in the community who would like to go out on social outings or spend time having a chat and discussions.
Qualifications are not required – a caring, positive and respectful attitude is much more important.
Experience with learning disabilities would be an advantage but full training will be provided, and travel expenses will be paid.

Hide AdChild contact centre volunteer – Littlehampton Child Contact Centre
Can you spare one Saturday morning a month?
Volunteers are needed to join the Littlehampton Child Contact Centre team.
The centre is a safe, friendly place where children of separated families can spend time with their non-resident parent.
They meet between 9.30am and 12.30pm at Littlehampton Baptist Church Hall on the first and third Saturday of each month.

Hide AdApplications are sought from both men and women – two references and a DBS check will be required.

Education events volunteer – RNLI
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea; they provide, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service.
Education events volunteers are needed to promote the work of the RNLI, to communicate sea safety messages at events and hand out relevant literature and materials to promote sea safety.
Other activities include; providing assistance at specific events such as child safety and youth events, competitions, quizzes, surveys and so on, helping supervise young people during activities, assisting with administering surveys and competitions, promoting fundraising opportunities, providing copies of records to the REO as requested and attending training offered by the RNLI.

Full training, resources and expenses are provided.

Volunteer sessions worker – Arun Sunshine Group
Arun Sunshine Group aims to provide a regular break for carers by providing a safe and friendly befriending service and social programme for adults with a learning difficulty in their care.
The group aims to counter isolation, provide friendship, company and stimulation while aiming to improve communication and social skills.
Activities include board games, jigsaws, arts and crafts, and trips out to local pubs.

As a volunteer sessions worker you will help to run this very worthwhile project under the supervision of the senior sessions worker.
No special skills are required; you just need to be loving, caring and enthusiastic.
