Arun and Chichester Citizens’ Advice Bureau, in Anchor Springs, is appealing for a volunteer administrator to swell its ranks.

The role would involve working in a busy office and includes a range of duties, from record keeping, photocopying, filing and dealing with post to keeping books up-to-date, as well as making appointments for clients, answering phone calls and typing.

Other volunteering roles in the Gazette area this week include:

People with a keen eye for cleaning and a knowledge of the local area are being asked to join the Littlehampton wing of the Youth Hostels Association (YHA).

The charity offers young people a chance to broaden their horizons while exploring parts of the country.

The YHA’s Littlehampton hostel, above the Look & Sea centre, in Surrey Street, is looking for a volunteer general assistant to help out at the site, joining a team to help keep the hostel clean, as well as offering a warm and friendly face for visitors staying in the town.

Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential. The application is very people-focussed and would suite a volunteer who enjoys meeting and interacting with people and helping them get the most out of their hostel experience.

Health ‘champions’ are being sort after to join the Voluntary Action Arun and Chichester (VAAC).

The group runs a well-being project which offers people a chance to help others to achieve their fitness goals.

It could see applicants supporting people, either at home on at work, in becoming fitter and healthier.

Volunteers would help motivate people to either achieve a weight loss goal, quit smoking or put a stop to drinking alcohol.

Duties may also include accompanying people to activity groups or providing weekly weigh-ins for them at work or home.
