The society, which runs the Arundel Museum, in Mill Road, is looking for new volunteers to help out with its oral history scheme.

Recruits are needed to interview older people to record memories of their lives, experiences and major local events.

These interviews will then need to be transcribed onto a computer.

This role is perfect for all those with a passion for local history and a bit of spare time on their hands.

Active people are needed to help provide some light relief for people at the community centre in Littlehampton.

Age UK West Sussex, which runs the Tamarisk Centre, in Beach Road, is searching for new activity leaders.

Among those needed include heads for the site’s arts and crafts and computer drop-in groups as well as a back-up bingo caller.

The aim of these roles is to support older people in an activity or class, either by teaching or leading a group.

Other volunteer opportunities are also available at the Tamarisk Centre, such as café assistants, receptionists and drivers.

A minibus driver is needed to help transport blind and partially-sighted people around in the Rustington area.

Charity 4Sight is appealing for a new driver to help out on a weekly basis.

The role could involve drivers transporting members from various locations to 4Sight’s social club.

Members might also need to help getting clients in and out of their vehicle as well as making tea and coffee at the social club.

Further opportunities to help in organising club visits and activities could also be on the cards.

A charity shop in Barnham needs a helping hand in keeping everything in order.

St Wilfrid’s Hospice has been based in Chichester since 1987 and over the years has grown in size developing the services provided.

It now provides a 14-bed inpatient unit with day care facilities, an education unit, a hospice at home service and nurse specialist based in the community. The charity is looking for more volunteers to help in their charity shop, in The Square, to sort and display donations, man the shop and operate the till.
