650 women swapped a night’s sleep for their walking shoes and gathered on Eastbourne’s seafront to walk four or 10 miles. As ever, there was a great atmosphere on the night with ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes coming together from across the county to walk with one common goal in mind: raising money for their local children’s hospice.

And they did a great job, raising over £71,000 – enough to cover more than 10 days’ worth of care, both at the hospice and out in the community. Well done ladies!

Of course, none of it would have been possible without the 100+ volunteers who gave up their nights to marshal, hand out medals and register our walkers. And we had wonderful support from Eastbourne Borough Council and local businesses including the Sovereign Centre and Event Medic Services, Food Lover’s Delight who provided breakfast and Sovereign FM who helped us promote the event and lent us DJ Millsy as DJ and compere for the night.

Kathryn McKenzie from the Fitness Rooms provided a rousing warm up session, and Phoenix Security and Event Safety provided roaming marshals. Prizes for the top fundraisers were kindly donated by The Grove Experience, Bills Restaurant (Eastbourne) and The English Wine Centre.

But we can’t take too much of a break, we are already planning next year’s event. So, if you would like to join in the fun in 2016 then our early bird registration (£15 instead of £20) is already open for the next Night to Remember midnight walk on Saturday 14 May.
