Why the wait for Gun Garden action?

IT was back in the summer of 2012 that we first highlighted concerns over large cracks which had appeared in a wall at Rye’s Gun Garden.

It is not hard to work out the affect a landslip on the steep bank behind the wall would have on the main A259 road below. Not to mention the danger to families who picnic in the area and children playing on the wall.

Why was it more than a year before Rother District Council contractors carried out a detailed investigation of the site?

We now await the outcome of that investigation as more time passes with no safety measures being taken.
