Far from optimistic
Having heard reports the car park at Tesco in Bognor Regis was under water again, I was far from optimistic when I headed there on Christmas Eve for my last-minute shop.
On arrival, a team of smiling faces in high-visibility jackets soon put my fears to rest as they guided each individual motorist to a safe, dry space via walkie-talkies and hand signals with such military precision and enthusiasm, it seemed like they did it every day.
The staff worked as a team and nothing was too much trouble.
Despite the miserable weather, their welcoming cheer was infectious and made me remember just why it is I shop at Tesco... whatever the weather.
