Halt demolition
I WAS very surprised to read in the Observer the proposal to demolish Belmont Lodge and erect 13 flats. I only hope the appeal is dashed.
I worked as a legal secretary for George Ide and it is a lovely building, with parking space for staff and clients, a well-kept garden, and in a very convenient location.
In addition, it has a good reason
for the blue plaque.
We have enough flats in Bognor Regis. Please, Arun District Council, keep this attractive building.
I feel the same about losing the tourist information office.
Give Bognor’s soul some oxygen and life will be restored here.
