On Saturday, July 10 while on my way home from work my motorcycle was hit from behind at the box junction outside the Carlisle. I went six foot up landed on the car’s bonnet and due to the force, ended up flying 12ft forward.

It was quick thinking and helpful manner of the men and women of the Carlisle that probably saved my life.

You really couldn’t ask for a friendlier bunch of people.

Also a man stopped and phoned an ambulance - to him I must say a big thank you as it now appears I have two fractures in my neck and one in the throat, and the bike - well sadly that’s to be scrapped - but a heartfelt thanks to so many helpful people. They truly are an asset to our town.
