It's our right to ride
REFERRING to Keith Weston's letter asking for bikes not to be allowed west of the pier, I can only say that absolutely bikes should be allowed to cycle right along the prom which is more than wide enough to accommodate both bikes and pedestrians.
If there is a designated lane, it would in fact be a lot safer than now as bikers cycle along the prom anyway. If a train can safely drive down the prom, I’m sure bikes in a cycle lane will be fine!
When in Brighton recently we were really impressed with how many cyclists used the cycle lanes safely along the sea front which at points, is narrower than our space.
We should all support campaigns to encourage families out in to the fresh air exercising and what better way than to cycle by the sea.
The Bognor prom and bikes – perfect!
