LETTER: Bombarded by festival music

Last Saturday June 4 a large number of unsuspecting residents like myself were bombarded with almost 12 hours of booming '˜music' which, unless your poor taste is abundant for this tripe, was not music to many people's ears.

The culprits were the Holbrook Club and the council for approving it.

The ‘entertainment’ was the Fake Festival, but in a residential area this is no place for the Glastonburys or their like to take place in.

The Holbrook Club claimed that it had advised the neighbourhood in advance in writing. I never received anything of the sort.

From 12.30pm to 11pm the whole neighbourhood had to put up with this racket.

The noise drowned out the television and people’s right to a bit of peace. Shame on you Holbrook Club and the hopelessly out of touch council.

A couple of hours is tolerable but half a day - God forbid!

I was told it was a one-off. If people feel the same way as I did, that’s the way it should stay - no more thank you.
