LETTER: Bus travellers deserve better

Having read '˜No relief for bus passengers' in the Chichester Observer dated Thursday 12th May 2016. I totally agree the facilities at the bus station, or lack of them has to be seen to be believed.

In bad weather water constantly drips from the roof onto passengers and seats, the area is totally devoid of any warmth, decent shelter from the elements in winter and of course toilet facilities which should be a basic human right available to all. What about the needs of the people.

Many visitors arrive here. First impressions count, and many visitors take the buses on the way to Goodwood in summer, easing congestion in and around the city. Don’t you think they deserve better.

It appears the council officials have no pride and as quoted ‘deem’ it unnecessary to provide decent facilities. Chichester is a fine city in many respects, may they see fit to keep it that way.
