I am delighted to be hosting Alzheimer’s Society’s third annual Dementia Friendly Awards this year celebrating people making an outstanding contribution towards improving the lives of those affected by dementia.I would like to invite people in West Sussex to get involved by entering. I think it’s wonderful to see dementia friendly initiatives emerging from every corner of our communities - from schools to hairdressers and theatres to public transport.

Nominations for 2016 are now open and cover nine categories including Inspiring Individual of the Year, Dementia Friendly Organisation of the Year and new this year a Dementia Journalism award to recognise sensitive, informed reporting about the condition.
