On Boxing Day as on previous visits to the town I parked in Denne Road car park. I noticed whilst in the Swan Walk centre the signs stating that ‘Boxing Day normal parking charges apply’.

After speaking with council car parking personnel I made my way back to Denne Road car park to purchase a ticket. The machines there had no signs as in Swan Walk .

I spoke with other car owners who also were confused. I noticed whilst walking around the car park a number of vehicles were not displaying a ticket.

Their owners would have had a shock when they returned to their vehicles to find a penalty charge notice.
