LETTER: Great experience with ambulances

Reading the article in Hastings Observer today (Sept 30 2016) about the problems with ambulance services in our area, I would like to say that I have found the service excellent in every way in my experience.

As I work in sheltered housing I probably use the ambulance service more than most and especially in an emergency scenario.

I have always found the attendance times extremely good and have been surprised on many occasions how quickly the paramedics arrived after a call.

The crews are always very courteous, kind and professional and have done sterling work certainly in my experience over the last twelve years or so.

There are so many demands on our emergency services, this seems not to have been addressed by central government which seems hell bent to push these wonderful people to the brink with demanding a better and more efficient service and not supplying the finances.

Also government is failing to consider that there are a lot of extra people needing the service but still welcome people to our country who basically cannot be catered for adequately with what we have available.
