LETTER: High standard of medical care

On October 31st at around 5.45pm my wife unfortunately tripped and fell on our doorstep.

She was in and out of consciousness and in great pain. It appeared she may have dislocated her elbow and as I suspected may have had further injuries I immediately phoned 999 for an ambulance.

The ambulance controller was very efficient, reassuring and helpful. She assured me that an ambulance and help would be here very soon.

A few minutes later a Billingshurst First Response Team member arrived.

The member was called Heidi and she was extremely efficient, carried out a quick assessment and reassured my wife.

A very few minutes later an ambulance arrived and John the paramedic with Heidi carried out an assessment, emergency treatment and it was necessary to transport her to St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester.

Heidi and John are a credit to our local medical services.

On arrival at A & E the same high standard was continued by all the staff at A & E.
