The letter was to ask the boss of Liberty whether he was still sure that the North Horsham development was a viable proposition and deliverable. A planning application due in February 2015 has still not been submitted to HDC.

My letter dealt with the strength of local opposition including a divided council led by Cllr Dawe, the reputation of Liberty associated with another project in the UK and the escalating costs Liberty will have to meet not least in infrastructure.

I asked whether he was satisfied that he was fully abreast of the true local situation – not least house sales flat in other developments.

Since writing we now have more evidence of flooding on the proposed Liberty site (though we have escaped the worst of the rainfall to hit UK so far this winter) and now the likelihood of another planning application to build a mass burn waste incinerator next to his lovely executive homes and planned junior and secondary schools.

When an incinerator was last considered the business plan to make it viable included the burning of not just waste from Sussex but also from London transported down by train to Warnham station near the planned site.
