LETTER: Land belongs to everyone

How low can the council get? What right have they to sell public land? Our downland belongs to everyone.

No-one has told us yet, if the land /farms are sold, what the land will be used for.

Will it be changed from farmland to something unacceptable? Once it is sold will the public still have a say in what it will be used for? I think not!

Our downland brings in more tourism than our town centre , which is a sorry sight.

Our downland is our only asset. Tourists do not come here for our Arndale Centre, or our gardens and parks which have been left to deteriorate for a long time now.
