LETTER: No, I'm not holding my breath either

Given that the county council is once again agonising over what to do with the St Anne's School site, I have a suggestion.

How about using the revenue from flogging off the Pells School site to the developers, to turn St Anne’s into a special educational needs school, staffed by highly skilled and dedicated teaching and support staff?

This time round, county could advise parents of children statemented in early years that the school is an option.

That would deal with the problem of falling roles that led to its original closure.

Obviously, county will want to ensure that any cash obtained from closing local schools is ploughed back into local educational provision. No, I’m not holding my breath either.
