LETTER: Pollution is a known killer

I hope the '˜enhanced on-line' solution proposed for the A27 by Rob Ferguson (Herald, January 19) isn't a reworked plan to create more road capacity for more traffic.

If it is I would add a word of caution to residents like him living close to the road.

Exhaust pollution is a known killer. Levels of nitrogen dioxide along many parts of the road are already serious, with Grove Lodge the worst. See: https://www.adur-worthing.gov.uk/media/media,140814,en.pdf

Yes waiting traffic is an issue, but to rectify that with something that only encourages more and faster traffic, not only creates more pollution but is a waste of hard-earned taxpayer pounds.
