LETTER: Potions, lotions ... and books

Do you remember Boots Booklovers Library in Eastbourne? Boots the Chemist once had subscription libraries within their stores. They operated from 1899 -1966 but their heyday was during the inter-war years, when more than 400 branches flourished.

While researching for my book Lipsticks and Library Books: The Story of Boots Booklovers Library I was contacted by an Eastbourne lady who remembers childhood trips into town every Saturday, when her mother visited the Boots library in Terminus Road.
