LETTER: Put to great in-convenience

Oh dear, what can the matter be?

One old lady can’t find a lavatory!

I walked from the seafront through the town at about 7pm. I needed a loo, but the Arndale Centre and all the stores were closed.

The toilets by Hyde Gardens were closed. In desperation I went into McDonald’s to climb up a steep stairway to theirs.

Unless one is near a hotel, it is a very awkward situation. Not everyone can hang on to get to the railway station. Council planners – do something. It’s not good to close conveniences without providing an alternative.
