LETTER: Same old rhetoric

As the new PPC for Seaford, Newhaven and Lewes, Kelly-Marie Blundell has blundered into that same old rhetoric and downright ignorance of the EU.

She is calling for a second referendum because the Lib-Dems didn’t like the outcome of the referendum.

They call themselves democrats but don’t like the democratic wishes of the British people.

Perhaps she is trying to get a very nice well paid job with all the benefits and very nice trimmings in the EU Parliament.

She certainly isn’t going to represent the people of Seaford, Newhaven and Lewes, because she says that we have to fight for the EU Citizens as well.

I thought an MP was to represent the people who elected them, not to campaign for others who probably don’t want our help and certainly those who didn’t have a say in voting for a British MP.

Kelly-Marie says that the EU has kept the peace for 70 years. Your history record is not so good, it was and is NATO that has kept the peace. The EU has nearly caused a few wars by interfering.

Bosnia is a prime example. We had to ask the reluctant Americans for help. She says the economy is worsening? I hope that the Sussex Express and daily papers deliver to Mars. Norman Baker says that Maria Caulfield doesn’t respond to casework and is not effective in parliament.

Maria works damn hard for her constituents. Just because her photo is not on every page, does not mean that she doesn’t work hard. I have had and needed her support on a few issues that I have been dealing with. I have seen your voting records Mr Baker. You spent more time getting your photo in the Sussex Express than voting what you should be voting for.

As Transport Minister, you wanted car parking charges to double outside of London. That, I presume, would of meant Seaford, Newhaven and Lewes. I have and am still talking to remainers who are not bothered about Brexit.

The sky has not fallen in, the end of the world is NOT nigh. I know that most of the Lib-Dems were remainers but please act like our Olympians, believe in our country, believe in yourself and stop being remoaners.
