LETTER: Schools are an investment in the future

Councillors wishing to close Pells & Rodmell Primary school sites next year [Sx Exp 13 May], have failed to address the issue of where pupils, whose education is being disrupted, will be placed.

How many primary schools in Lewes are in a position to accommodate another Reception class or increased class sizes in years one to six?

When a similar problem surfaced a few years ago, there was only one. That capacity was fully absorbed.

Hasn’t it occurred to these people that schools are an investment in the future?

We need more of them, not fewer.
