LETTER: Support Forces

With Armed Forces Day upon us, Round Table Great Britain and Ireland want to recognise the importance of supporting our Forces personnel by honouring them with a year's free membership.

Founded in 1927, Round Table is about having fun with a great bunch of mates as well as supporting the local community. Membership is open to men aged 18-45 while sister club Ladies Circle is open to women aged 18-45.

Many of our members are former or serving Forces personnel but we would like to see more men with the qualities of servicemen join Round Table.

With over 400 clubs, thousands of men are making a difference to the area they live in. In 2015/2016, Round Table clubs raised over £3.3 million for local good causes and charities through various events including bonfire nights, beer festivals and Santa sleigh collections while having a great time with their mates.

I #saluteourforces as nearly a quarter of a million people give their lives to our service and make us safer from the threats that we just can’t see.

I look forward to hearing from interested men in Sussex.

Mark House

National President, Round Table Great Britain and Ireland
