LETTER: Vehicles parked quite legally

May I issue a slight clarification of the article on residents' parking in Curzon Avenue / Vale Drive, Horsham, in the County Times of December 1 - '˜Man halts yellow line painting with vehicles'.

For my part, I parked quite legally in the same place I have been parking for forty five years and came back to find my cars boxed in by yellow paint. I went off to America for several weeks, and while I was away, my spies informed me that somebody had pushed both my vehicles onto the yellow lines. Whether this was to enable the council to complete their street decoration, or whether it was an attempt to make my vehicles incur another load of parking tickets I know not.

But I arranged to have my vehicles pushed back where they were and disabled by removing one wheel from each, and that is where they remain, parked quite legally.
