LETTER: We say NO!

It is with shock and horror that I read that the Planning Inspector tasked with approving the MSDC District Plan is rejecting the Plan on the grounds that he wishes the annual 800 house building allocation for Mid Sussex to be arbitrarily increased to 1,026.

Also that several Greenfield Sites previously rejected by the council (for good reason) must now be considered for housing to allow for all these extra houses.

So it would appear that an unelected bureaucrat feels he knows best after many thousands of pounds of tax payers money and man hours which have been spent preparing the District Plan and which has been put to a referendum to the local populace and approved.

He will impose his singular view which is contrary to the local majority. Let us tell him, and our local council and political representatives that we say NO! - and we have had enough of our local wishes being ridden roughshod over.

There has been a massive increase in the loss of green fields around Haywards Heath and within Mid Sussex already which has taken place with no change in infrastructure and no say by the locals.

The developers are having a field day grabbing lands as the District Plan gets pushed further away. If the Planning Inspector has a free hand, as I assume he feels he has, then what hope is there for Localism?

I fully applaud any action that the Middy editorial plans to take with our local representatives and CPRE in the campaign “Keep Mid-Sussex Green”.
