LETTER: What a lift this would give town

I would heartily support the campaign to rename Terminus Road and to give the stretch between Harry Ramsden's and the Premier Inn a facelift. I would also agree with Annemarie Field [Herald, April 1] that it would be even better to pedestrianise it and fill it with tables and chairs and street entertainers. What a lift that would give to the town.

I also like the idea of renaming it The Boulevard but would go one step further: why not Main Boulevard? As the word ‘main’ is another word for ocean or sea it would really bring home the message that the road is not a terminus at all but a direct route straight to our beautiful seafront.
