A big thank you from RAFA

I WONDER if you can find space for a thank you letter to all those Battle and Battle area residents that so generously supported the recent Royal Air Forces Association’s annual Wings Week Appeal.

As a result of that generosity this year we have collected the magnificent sum of just over £3,300.

So, to all those that donated to our collectors in Battle and Robertsbridge High Street, or outside Jempsons Budgens, or at Silverhill ASDA a little earlier in the year, or when collectors called at their house – a really heartfelt thank you.

I must couple with that a big thank you to the many volunteer friends of RAFA who helped us as collectors and to those local publicans that allowed us to place our collecting boxes on their counter during the Wings Appeal campaign.

Your readers might like to know that the RAF Association’s Wings Appeal supports serving and ex-RAF Personnel and their families, whenever they are in need.

Whether it’s an injured airman fighting to get back onto his feet, a young child missing their parent away on overseas operations or a WWII veteran needing a shoulder to lean on, RAFA is there to help.

I extend a sincere thank you to your reader’s for their kind donations which will help the RAF Association to continue with its work.
