A clarification...

FURTHER to my letter which you published last week (Thursday, May 17) regarding the development threat to Angmering village, I have been advised that some of the information I quoted was misleading.

The Dell was, I understand, built over a period of several years in the 1980s and constitutes about 300 houses.

It is since the building of The Dell that the housing stock in the village has dramatically increased.

According to the 1991 census, the population of Angmering was 5,591 and it is estimated that when the 2011 census figures are published the figure will be over 8,000 and it is a repetition of this level of increase that the Save Angmering Village group is campaigning against.

I would be grateful if you would publish this letter to avoid any misunderstanding.
