A cunning plan?

WITH reference to the issue of the Littlehampton bypass covered in last week’s Gazette, the restriction to traffic flow in the area can never be addressed unless another crossing of the River Arun is considered.

The two road traffic crossings in the area are at Littlehampton and Arundel. Every vehicle travelling east/west or west/east is funnelled towards these, and we all know what happens when one is closed or access restricted because of accidents or roadworks.

The answer has to be to sort out the A27 at Arundel, but this will never happen in the foreseeable future. This idea of the improvement to the Littlehampton bypass would only result in more traffic diverting from the A27 to avoid the summer queues at Arundel, making the situation worse for us locals.

Is this a cunning plan to delay the Arundel bypass for yet another 50 years?
