A little bit of help on offer to make us step up our recycling

Roadshows about what you can recycle in your blue rubbish bin are being held by Mid Sussex District Council to encourage more recycling by the population.

The authority says householders tend to be very good at recycling from the kitchen but are more likely to forget about waste items from upstairs or in the bathroom.

Cabinet Member for Leisure and Sustainability Cllr Pru Moore said: “Many of us have a system in place for recycling, especially in the kitchen. Now is a good time to take a fresh look around the house for items which could be recycled.

“A prime area is the bathroom, with lots of plastic bottles, cardboard rolls, aerosols and packaging which are among the items that can go into the blue-lidded bin.”

Queries about recycling will be answered at MSDC recycling roadshows over the Easter period where council staff will also encourage people to step up their recycling.

The roadshows will be at the following venues:
Haywards Heath – Sainsbury’s store foyer, Bannister Way, Wednesday, April 3 from 10am – 5pm; Burgess Hill – Tesco’s car park, Jane Murray Way, Friday, April 5 from 10am – 5pm; and East Grinstead – Sainsbury’s foyer, Brooklands Way, Thursday, March 28 from 10am – 5pm.
