A lovely surprise

ONE Saturday afternoon in the early spring sunshine I walked the length of the promenade from the west end to Galley Hill. I hadn't been along there since the autumn and was most impressed with the gardens that were finished. So interesting and unusual, each section is different and yet a part of the whole design. How lovely it will be later in the spring when the plants and lawns are finally established so the fences can be taken down. I am sure that children will enjoy playing with all the imaginatively designed balances and shapes. In fact, everything is well designed and strong, from the many benches and seats down to the litter and dog bins. Yes, the area around the Pavilion looks a real mess at present, but wait till it's finished before you moan. Who knows that may well turn out to be a lovely surprise too!
