A plea: Think before you vote

ONLY a few days remain to decide how you will vote in the local elections. You will have your own ideas on major issues affecting your lives and the future of Littlehampton.

Courtwick Lane Opposition Group (CLOG) wants to bring the proposed Courtwick development to the front of your mind.

Candidates are busy campaigning for your vote. CLOG wants you to ask what their views are over the proposed Courtwick development. CLOG reminds you that Courtwick would:

Cause chaos to the A259 – Littlehampton’s main artery;

Stretch existing infrastructure beyond belief (no school or surgery, etc., is to be provided);

Remove prime arable land so important to the future of the area and elsewhere;

Remove excellent habitat for wildlife;

Potentially increase the flood risk for the whole of Littlehampton;

Provide industrial capacity which the town does not need.

CLOG has examined all these aspects (and more) and can tell you what we have researched – see our website (www.clog-uk.com).

CLOG suggests voting for any candidate in favour of this development would be a vote for the continuing “downgrading” of Littlehampton. Do you want that?

Don’t believe the hype that developments such as Courtwick are the only way to get funds for infrastructure! Almost every major development in the UK has an opposition group with similar views to CLOG. We can’t all be wrong, can we?

This is about ruthless developers holding cash-poor councils to ransom by promising the earth while counting their profits and, perhaps, delivering nothing.

CLOG suggests you vote for candidates with Littlehampton’s future as a major priority. Developments such as Courtwick do nothing for this and will only add misery to the town.

CLOG is concerned only with the proposed Courtwick development – not any other proposed developments in Littlehampton.

CLOG is not politically motivated – it comprises people genuinely concerned about the long term damage Courtwick would do to Littlehampton.
