Participants were taken through CPR, Choking, how to deal with a heart attack, using a defibrillator and aiding someone who is bleeding heavily.

Marc Harrold and Hilary Humphrey led an exceptionally informative course and didn’t hold back any punches in what performing some of these life saving skills were actually like in reality, something they have performed on many occasions themselves. Participants got stuck in and were very hands on, learning these essential skills.

Marcus Tyler-Moore, Vice Chair of Governors mentioned, “We are always keen to reach out to the community and arrange useful events like these, tonight has been so successful we intend to book the HCR for further sessions in order to have as many of our parents trained as possible.

Marc Harrold (Team Leader & SECAmb Senior Associate Trainer) said “It is always good to pass on these potentially lifesaving skills through The British Heart Foundation ‘Heartstart’ scheme and this was a great group to teach as they were lots of good questions asked while they tried doing CPR on the various mannequins.”
