All I ask for is moral capitalism

We have a Conservative government but a non-Conservative majority in the EU '“ hence the rules, regulations and statutes coming from the EU often conflict with our own government's ideology and cause its frustration with the EU.

One of several reasons that we will be voting to stay in the EU is because we trust far more, the purpose, actions and statutes of the EU are for the maximum benefit of the majority of the UK people.

We do not trust Conservative statutes, regulations and regulators any more, which only benefit the establishment, funded by the City and big business. This is a conclusion only reached over the last decade, having voted Conservative in the past. America is no longer a country, merely an international business, we have no wish for the UK to make the final steps into the same corrupt arrangement.

It is clear this current government’s intention is to reduce our country’s income (taxes) until public services collapse and the private sector then will be encouraged to ‘rescue’ it, at all levels.

Just like the Thatcher years.

It took the Labour government 10 years to fund the public sector recovery and one year, 2008, for the financial sector to destroy that progress. To put this in the context of our own domestic budget – if the house and its contents were worn out and required replacement, I wouldn’t intentionally give up a full time job for part-time and then claim I had insufficient funds to do essential repairs and blame the previous owner of my house.

This new idea of ‘balancing the books’ has not been achieved for nearly a century – mainly because it is appalling economics. At home, many of us have/had a mortgage, borrow money for a car etc – this is borrowing money, in a controlled way, to improve our lot.

In government terms you borrow money for essential infrastructure and services.

It really is possible to spend money to save money.

The idea that our current government has no money to spare and further cuts are essential, is ideological nonsense.

It is amazing where they find reserve funds when it is politically expedient to do so.

Capitalism is based on borrowing money – all I ask is for a moral capitalism.
