All-year yellow
I have lived in Leemark House for 26 years and have never understood why there are not double yellow lines along the left-hand side of Beach Road from the roundabout to the seafront.
There is no parking from April 1 until September 30, so all the workers have to find somewhere else in these months when there are summer visitors – why not in the winter, too?
While I was working at the Ormsby Centre in East Street, a car park was made for council workers. I asked why they never used it and was told they didn’t want to get wet or cold. Are they all made of sugar? It’s only a short walk along Goda Road and through St Mary’s churchyard to get to the council offices. I walked miles to work in all weather, as I never owned a car.
One day there will be an accident in Beach Road, as there is not room for cars to get through when Biffa is collecting the rubbish.
