Anger as Icklesham Council hike tax
I have just received my council tax bill and am alarmed to discover that Icklesham Parish Council has increased its share of the pot by some 20 per cent.
This seems at odds with the general trend in other authorities in Rother, many of whom have either frozen or reduced their demands: East Sussex County Council, Rother District Council and the fire and police authorities have not increased their expenditure.
In these straitened times surely it is the responsibility of Icklesham Parish Council to follow suit and not demand more from hard pressed council tax payers.
